What members declare

House members declaring something under each heading of the form. A count of members, not of items — the form sets no convention for how many holdings go on a line, so counting items would measure how people fill in a form rather than what they hold.

How to read this

  • The House and Senate keep separate registers. This is the House register; senators declare through the Senate's own register, which is published here too but records no member / spouse / dependent-children split.
  • A few statements are published as scans this site cannot parse. Those are read by hand instead, and say so. A hand transcription is pinned to the exact file it was read from, so if the register publishes a new version of that statement the transcription is withdrawn rather than shown out of date.
  • A statement is published as lodged, followed by each notification of alteration. The two are shown separately and never merged: applying a deletion means matching its wording back to an item in the original, and a wrong match would misstate what a member declared.
  • The register records the nature of an interest, not its value. There are no amounts to publish for shareholdings, liabilities or accounts, because members are not asked for them.
  • Interests of a spouse and of dependent children are declared to the extent the member is aware of them. Where a member records that a spouse does not share that information, that is what the form says.
  • Nothing here is checked against any other source. It is what the member declared.
  • The Senate register records no member / spouse / dependent-children split. Where the distinction matters a senator writes it into their own answer, and that is published as written; nothing here separates a senator's interest from their family's beyond what the senator wrote.
  • A statement's interests are as lodged; its alterations are the additions and deletions since, each dated. The two are shown separately and never merged — matching a deletion back to the interest it removes would risk misstating the record.
  • A register keeps a statement after its member leaves, so it can hold more statements than there are seats. Sussan Ley is a former member and is not counted here.
