Politicians and how they vote
What they said is one thing. This is the record of what they actually did — 226 current members, 150 in the House and 76 in the Senate.
Where the parties actually differ
Each party’s average agreement with a policy position, based on how its members voted. Shown for the policies that divide them most — a position everyone agrees on tells you nothing useful.

100% means the party’s members voted consistently for the position; 0% consistently against. Parties with fewer than three voting members are excluded, since one person’s record would otherwise stand for a whole party.
Who crosses the floor
Votes cast against the majority of their own party. Party discipline in Australia is unusually strong, so these numbers are small by design — and that is the point.

How to read these numbers
- They Vote For You groups related divisions into plain-language "policies" and scores how often each member voted with that position. Those groupings are editorial judgements made by the OpenAustralia Foundation, not official parliamentary categories.
- An agreement score in the middle of the range means the member voted on both sides of that policy over time. That is normal: policies aggregate dozens of divisions across many years, including procedural motions and narrow amendments. We deliberately publish no "flip-flop" score, because when we measured it, almost every member qualified — it reflects how the scoring works, not anyone's conduct.
- Attendance excludes periods before a member was elected, but members may be absent for legitimate reasons including illness, parental leave, or official duties. A low rate is not by itself evidence of anything.
- Only members currently serving are included. A vote is recorded against the person, not the seat.
